What it is:

Bai Zhu, or white atractylodes rhizome, is a bitter and warm herb used in TCM to tonify the Spleen, dry dampness, and stabilize the exterior. It is associated with the Spleen and Stomach meridians. Bai Zhu is known for its ability to tonify Spleen Qi, dry dampness, and improve appetite. It is often used in formulas to treat Spleen Qi deficiency with symptoms such as fatigue, loose stools, and lack of appetite.
